Often referred to as the Ba Be Lake, Ba Be National Park was established in 1992 as Vietnam’s eight national park.
The scenery here swoops from toweing limestone mountains peaking at 1554m down into plunginf lalleys wrapped in dense dominating the very heart of the park,
The park is a rainforest area with more than 550 named plant species, and the government subsidises the village not to cut down the trees.
The hundreds of wildlife species here include 65 (mostly rarely seen) mammals, 353 butterflies, 106 species of fish, four kinds of turtle, the highly endangered Vietnamese salamander and even the Burmese puthon.
Ba Be bird life is equally prolific, with 233 species recorded, incliding the spectacular crested serpent eagle and the oriental honey buzzard. Hunting is forbidden, but villagers are permitted to fish.
The region is home to 13 tribal villages, most belonging to the Tay minority plus smaller numbers of Dzao and H’Mong.
Ban Gioc is the largest waterfall in the country , though not the highest.
Its vertical drop is only around 30m, but it has an impressive 300m span ;one side of the falls is in China, and the other is in Vietnam. Water volume varies considerably betwwen the dry and rainy seasons , and the sight is most impressive from May to September.
7.30 - 8.00 : Pick up from your hotel in the Old Quater of Hanoi. 9h30-10.30 : Visit the Tea plantation in Tha Nguyên city 11.00- 12.30 : Hit the road north towards homestay 13.00 : Tradtional lunch in a local restaurant ( vegetatian available) 14.30 - 17h30: Boat trip around Ba be lake.Widow island,Cam village ,An Ma temple
7.30: Breafast at our homestay 8.00: Depart for Quang Uyen , A district inhabited primarily by Nung ethnic monority communties 12.00: Traditional lunch in a local restaurant.( vegetarian available) 13.30 - 14.30; Visit Nguom Ngao Cave ,stretches out 2,144 metters underground and is brimming with incredible stalactiest and stalagmites 15.00 - 16.00 : Visit Ban Gioc waterfall which spans over 300m, half in Vietnam and half in China. Take a boat trip on Quay Son river 16.30: Tranfer to Quang Uyen 19.00 : Enjoy traditional dinner and overnight at a Nung homestay, a traditional ethnic house -on -stilt
