Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village

Our journey began on an exhilarating morning. At 6:15 am, filled with excitement, we embarked on our journey from Hanoi. On the bus ride, each of us was excited, full of anticipation for the adventure to come.

At 7 o’clock, the car started rolling from the center of Hanoi, swaying along the road leading to the northwest. Together we shared memories, talked and enjoyed each beautiful view by the window.

At 9 o’clock, we stopped to rest at a rest stop. This is an opportunity to drop your soul into the green natural scenery, enjoy specialties with highland flavors.

After many passes and mountain ranges, we arrived in Sapa town at 12:30 pm. The tour guide picked us up at the lunch point, we enjoyed a delicious meal to recover our strength.

After lunch, we moved to Cat Cat village, which contains a long story about the life of the H’mong people. The lush green terraces fascinate the eyes of the beholder, like the steps linking human love with heaven and earth.

In the evening, we had the opportunity to talk, experience, and share a delicious meal with the H’mong family. The feeling of warmth and familiarity is like becoming a small part of their family.

Day 2: Cat Cat – Mount Fansipan – Giang Ta Chai – Homestay

1/ Welcoming the dawn at Cat Cat Village

On the second day, the breakfast dish of the H’mong people, “men men,” captivated my senses with its natural sweetness and enticing aroma. Creating an indescribable feeling,It is truly a dish worth experiencing.

This morning, the schedule is that we will go to the first Fansipan cable car station (Sun Plaza), located in the Fansipan Legend tourist area located about 3km from the stone church (Sapa town center). There are 2 ways to get to Fansipan cable car station:

• Option 1: Call a Taxi or walk to Fansipan cable car station. Taxi price is from 50,000 VND – 100,000 VND and takes 10 minutes to arrive. It takes about 30 minutes on foot
• Option 2: Going by train to climb Muong Hoa mountain: this is the way to enjoy a light trip without spending a lot of effort. Muong Hoa mountain climbing train will go through 2 tunnels and 4 viaducts, it only takes 4 minutes to reach Fansipan cable car station. Ticket price is 100,000 VND / both for adults or children.

And if you bring a large group of people or go with a family with children, apply the second method like me. As scheduled, we arrived at Fansipan Legend in just 5 minutes.

Next, we entered the cable car station to buy tickets. Ticket prices are as follows:

• Adult ticket price: 750,000 VND
• Child ticket price: 550,000 VND (for children from 1.1m – 1.3m tall), and for children under 1m, the resort will exempt Cable car ticket fee.

The time from the cable car station to the Fansipan peak stop station is 20 minutes. Inside the cable car cabin, I marveled at the picturesque beauty of Hoang Lien Son mountain range and Muong Hoa valley.

2/ Afternoon to the top of Fansipan mountain

Climbing 600 steps to the top of Fansipan is challenging, but the magnificent views are worth the effort.

Exploring the enchanting “Thanh Van Dac Lo,” an architectural gem reminiscent of the Ly Dynasty, felt like stepping into a heavenly gate. Here, I enjoy the fresh, airy air from above the Buddha door.

Standing atop Fansipan, surrounded by clouds, I felt a profound connection between heaven and earth. A great feeling, looking from above to below, you can only see clouds around, thinking you are in heaven and earth.

3/ Afternoon visit the Giang Ta Chai village

After taking pictures to admire the scenery on the top of Fansipan mountain, we continued our journey, visiting Giang Ta Chai village. One of the wonderful hamlets where people live simply, attached to nature. Interactions with local people have made us feel their sincere affection and hospitality.

At the end of the afternoon, we return to Cat Cat village, where a cozy homestay with a H’mong family is waiting for us. Enjoy the peaceful space, this place is like my childhood family, warm and friendly.

Day 3: Linh Ho – Sapa – Hanoi

On the third day, after saying goodbye to the H’mong family, we went to Ỷ Linh Ho – this lake is located in the heart of Sapa valley, green, clear and blends with the surrounding natural space. And walk on the rope bridge, and here we are released into the poetic scenery, enjoy the peace and settle in the soul.

At noon, we returned to Sapa town. Walking through the small streets, we recorded every beautiful moment, and unforgettable memory in our hearts.

With a tinge of sadness, we bid farewell to Sapa, cherishing the cherished memories shared with the H’mong family.

To get to Sapa, you can choose from many different means of transport, of which the bus is the most popular and convenient option. If you like watching the sunrise and don’t want to lose sleep, you can refer to the ride you just shared.

Or if you want to watch the sunrise in Sapa, the bus from 10 pm to 4 am the next morning is not a bad choice.

Moreover, choosing a train journey is an excellent option for those longing for an extensive adventure and often struggling with motion sickness. Trains from Hanoi to Lao Cai run from 10pm, getting you to your destination at 6am the next morning. This advantageous timing allows you to prolong your stay in Sapa, fully immersing yourself in the captivating misty ambiance of the city.
